Joyce Ann Thomas York, 70, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Celebration of Life Services, 6 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her home in Liberty.

Joyce was a native of Richmond County and a lifelong resident of Liberty. She was a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School and a retired former employee at Goodyear. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and very close friends. Joyce loved gardening and working in her flowers. She enjoyed playing games on her computer and watching WWE Wrestling. Joyce was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold and will truly be missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by by her parents, William "Bill" Edward and Shirley Ann Rayfield Thomas, Sr., sisters, Judy Thomas White, Kathy Roseann "Ann" Jessup, brothers, John Robert "Robbie" Thomas, Charles Eugene "Gene" Thomas, William Edward "Billy" Thomas, Jr., and granddaughter, Madison Jean York.

Survivors: husband, Kenneth "Pete" York, of the home, daughter, Cheryl Lynn York, of Liberty, sons, Kenneth William York, and wife, Amber, of Liberty, Christopher James York, and wife, Hannah, of Liberty, Timothy Dale Thomas, and wife, Christa, of the Outer Banks, sisters, Crystal Thomas Sheville, (John), Karen Thomas Reinier, (John),  brothers, David Lee Thomas, Tommy Ray "Hammer" Thomas, sisters-in-law, Carol Matthews, (Robert), Kathy Suggs, brothers-in-law, Clarence York, (Loretta), Russell York, (Mary), Nellie "Rusty" York, grandchildren, Elizabeth Deanne York Idol, (Casey), of Thomasville, Maranda Leeann York, (Bradley), of Greensboro, Makenna Nicole York, (Logan), of Franklinville, Joshua Tyler York, (Elizabeth), of New York, Addalyne Elizabeth Wryick York, of Liberty, Joshua Primera, (Chandler), of Greensboro, Jadyn Edward Marcus Polson, of Liberty, Jaxon Clint Bailey Polson, of Liberty, Londyn Grace Callahan, of Liberty, Raelynn Isabella Boyette, of Rockingham, great-grandson, Grayson York, special friends, Sugar Berry, and Ann Chriscoe.
